Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know what therapy to choose?

We offer a free telephone consultation where we can discuss your requirements and our different approaches with you before you make your decision. We can also signpost you to an appropriate service or provider if for any reason we cannot meet your needs.

What areas do you cover?

Between us we cover a large area of Derbyshire and South Yorkshire. Our therapy rooms are based in Chesterfield.

How long does therapy last?

That depends on the type of difficulty you present with. For example, CBT treatment generally lasts between 6 to 12 weeks for most presentations. This can last longer for more complex issues such as eating disorders.

What can I expect in my first appointment?

The first session is generally finding out more about what you want help with and us explaining how the treatment can help you. We will then make a decision about the goals we can work together on in subsequent sessions.

What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?

We are happy for you to change your appointment provided you give us at least 48 hours notice or as long as possible if something unexpectedly changes for you at the last minute.

What if I cannot attend an appointment?

Missed appointments prevent us from scheduling another client who could benefit from our services. If you don't inform us that you cannot attend, we will have to charge the full appointment fee. If you provide less than 48 hours notice we will charge 50% of the full appointment fee.

What if my child won't engage?

For children under 11 and children who stuggle to engage in sessions, we offer parent led sessions.

Are there any discounts?

Yes, we offer a discount when booking 6 or more sessions. In certain circumstances we can also offer concessions.

What payment methods are accepted?

Currently, we accept bank transfer (BACS) in advance of the session.

Do you offer supervision?

Yes, we offer supervision for accredited professionals and students on request.
